IM / FM Physician – Inpatient Medical Director

About the Job

An established Post Acute Care Management group is seeking a Primary Care Physician in Charlottesville, VA. For this position, you will serve as Medical Director for assigned Charlottesville-area facilities. You will be providing onsite primary, acute and chronic care to post-acute and long-term care residents. There will be full collaboration with clinical leadership and nurse practitioners as well as other members of the care team. 

• Physician Specialty: IM or FM 
• Job Title: Medical Director (Hybrid Clinical-Administrative position)
• Location: Multiple facilities in close proximity. 
• Schedule: Flexible / Clinical  M-F 8:00-1:00. Remaining 3 hours of 8 hour day spent charting. No Saturdays. 
• On call: Rotation of the team. 1 Saturday per month. 
• Patient Population: 55+ with an occasional younger adult. 
• Setting: Inpatient Post Acute Care – Long-term care facilities, rehabilitation centers, and assisted living communities. 
• Support Staff: Full operational staff for IT, Billing, Coding, and HR. Collaboration with Family Nurse Practitioner 
• EMR: ChartPath
• Compensation: wRVU clinical compensation with potential to reach $250k or more per year. 

Qualifications / Requirements 

• IM or FM Physician 
• Board Certified / Board Eligible (Acceptable for new grads but must have post-acute care experience and attain BC within 12 months) 
• Active VA License
• DEA Registration
• Experience in long-term care, geriatrics, hospital medicine, primary care or post-acute medicine preferred. 
• Must have at least 1 year experienced
