About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, Board-Certified Primary Care Physician for a Market Medical Officer opportunity in Broward County, Florida.

This is a unique opportunity for a physician who enjoys practicing medicine while taking on a larger leadership role. The position combines outpatient primary care with executive-level clinical leadership, overseeing physicians and advanced practice providers across multiple clinics.

The Market Medical Officer reports directly to the President and holds a leadership position above the Medical Director level, working closely with senior clinical and operational leadership.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in managed care, Medicare Advantage, value-based care, and physician leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain an active outpatient primary care practice serving Medicare and Medicare Advantage patients.

• Provide clinical leadership and oversight to physicians and advanced practice providers across Broward County.

• Coach and mentor providers to improve clinical performance, quality outcomes, and patient experience.

• Support value-based care initiatives, population health management, and chronic disease management.

• Improve healthcare utilization by helping reduce unnecessary hospitalizations, emergency department visits, and readmissions.

• Promote accurate clinical documentation, HCC coding, risk adjustment, and quality measures.

• Collaborate with executive leadership, operations, and care management teams to improve overall market performance.

• Support clinical consistency and best practices across multiple locations.

Qualifications

Required:

• MD or DO from an accredited medical program.

• Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine.

• Active, unrestricted Florida medical license and active DEA registration.

• Minimum 10 years of primary care experience, specifically in managed-care settings serving Medicare Advantage populations.

• Strong understanding of value-based care, population health, and clinical quality improvement.

• Demonstrated physician leadership, communication, and coaching abilities.

• Ability to maintain an active primary care practice while overseeing multiple clinical teams.

Highly Preferred:

• Previous Medical Director or comparable physician leadership experience.

• Experience with HCC coding, ICD-10, MRA/risk adjustment, and utilization management.

• Experience leading and mentoring physicians and APPs.

• Strong background in Medicare Advantage quality measures and performance improvement.

• Experience managing complex adult and geriatric patient populations.

Location & Travel

This position oversees primary care clinics throughout Plantation, Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, and Pembroke Pines, FL.

Travel between Broward County clinics is required. The exact frequency and primary clinic assignment will be discussed during the interview process.
